it takes days for everything to return to normal for memory to be ‘refilled’ and for the skin of memory to mend itself

how do we know, then, that what is happening in sense memory

(which is after all the present)

is not really happening to us now

two parts of memory come together

felt like a skin

second arriving from an outside always to come
